Description

FACETING II: CALIBRATED STONES AND PRODUCTION RUNS

INSTRUCTOR: JOHN ELLIOTT

This course will help develop and expand your faceting skills. You will learn to facet stones to meet certain sizes for standard Stuller jewelry settings. This class is for experienced faceters. We will continue your skill development. Faceters will get a kit with my book on faceting calibrated stones for standard settings. We will start with preformed stones in laser gem and quartz to save time. The book will include how to facet competition stones, advanced polishing techniques and how to do production runs for matching stones and current market trends for matching gems. We will be using lab created rough and some natural topaz for faceting gems. Please bring an Optivisor or 10x loupe in addition to closed-toe shoes. If you have your own faceting machine or laps, feel free to bring those as

well and I’ll help you learn that machine.

Class Fee: $250

Prerequisites: Previous faceting class or practical experience
