MICRO MACRAME I
INSTRUCTOR: KRISTIN PIETRAS
This Micro Macramé class is for absolute beginners. Students will learn Macramé basics including types of cord, use of a Macramé board and pins, 10 commonly used knots and the addition of beads and other components. Students will complete the following 5 projects:
Instructor will provide a large macrame board kit that includes an 11.5 x 15.5-inch foam board, pins, blunt needle, 2mm practice cord and pictured instructions for 10 commonly used knots. All cord, beads, findings and pictured instructions needed for each project will also be provided. Other tools necessary to complete a project, such as scissors, lighter, glue, bead mat and fray knot, will be available for student use.

For more than 20 years, Kristin has enjoyed making jewelry. Over the years, Kristin became fascinated with many forms of jewelry and is proficient in Chainmaille, Micro Macramé, Kumihimo and Beading. Kristin’s instructor experience began in 2017 when she was invited to teach Chainmaille at The Great Bead Escape Retreat.
Two years later, after becoming self-taught in Micro Macramé, Kristin began creating and then teaching her own Micro Macramé designs at the same retreat. Kristin is also an instructor of Chainmaille, Micro Macramé and Beading Weaving at the Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society. In 2025, Kristin will begin teaching her Micro Macramé designs at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts.
