ONE-DAY INTRO TO MICRO-MOSAICS/OPEN STUDIO
INSTRUCTOR KASKA FIROR
Students in this class will be introduced to mosaic making tools and materials and will explore different types of design. They will learn how to use stained glass, ceramic tiles, beads, and tiny objects to create mini mosaics. Students will practice skills for cutting glass and ceramic tiles, then explore techniques for adhering to the tiles, and for grouting. We will use pre-made jewelry mosaic frames to learn techniques.
Those already familiar with mosaic making process will be able to go directly to creating their designs. Students should be able to complete 2-3 mosaics.
I will be bringing an extensive collection of glass beads of many different shapes, colorful stained glass, ceramic tiles, charms, glass and stone nuggets, and other items for your use.
The class fee includes all the materials to complete 3 mosaics as well as the use of tools. Students do not need to bring anything to class. All tools and materials will be provided.
