POISON RING WITH CLOISONNE ENAMEL
INSTRUCTOR: BETH DEVITRY
Learn to create a sterling silver poison ring with a cloisonné enamel top. This project combines metalwork and enameling to create a secret compartment ring that’s a unique work of art.
This class is divided into two parts. In the first part, we will focus on creating depth and dimension, blending and shading colors to achieve a rich transparent piece. No prior enameling experience is needed. In the second part, students will fabricate a ring from sterling silver. Using foundational jewelry techniques, students will construct a custom-fit setting that conceals a small secret compartment.
Class Fee: $325
Estimated Materials Fee: $150-$250
Prerequisite: Silver II or Higher
*An intermediate skill level is required for the silver portion of the class. This would include a basic proficiency in soldering, sawing and forming metal. By the end of class students can expect to finish a wearable unique piece of jewelry.
