WEEKEND ONE DAY INTRO TO WIRE-WEAVING
INSTRUCTOR KASKA FIROR
This workshop is for beginner students; intermediate level is also welcomed. Students in this workshop will be introduced to the basics of wire weaving. We will learn about tools and their proper use as well as which ones are necessary and which are nice to have, but not as important. We will talk about wire properties (differences in metals, shapes, temper, gauges) and how to know when to use the right ones for each application. Students will focus on basic weaving skills including basket weave and over-over weave as well as skills for shaping large gauge wires. At the end of the class, each student should have several samplers that they have made.
The class fee includes all the wire, consumables, and several color handouts with instructions.
