WEEKEND SILVER 1+: OPEN STUDIO
INSTRUCTOR: VALERIE LAMOTT
This is a Saturday open studio. Put the finishing touches on projects you didn’t quite finish in class or spend a day perfecting those soldering skills. Work on anything you like and I’m happy to provide guidance if needed.
Bring all the metal you want and I will have some silver, copper, and brass available at current market prices if you need a little something to finish a project. Class will run 9-5 on Saturday with clean up starting at 4pm.
Class fee: $75
Est. Material Fee: $0
Prerequisites: Any experience with silversmithing.
*WH TUITION: $100 Includes Breakfast and Boxed Lunch. No additional charge for lodging if taking a class, the week before or after, $60 lodging fee if needed. Please email [email protected] to arrange lodging.
After spending all day destroying things as a Quality Engineer, Valerie began metalsmithing classes in the evening to focus more on creating things. In 2013 she moved to South Carolina and transitioned into creating jewelry full time. Her work can be found in galleries in the South and Midwest and at many art shows. Often inspired by nature and travel, Valerie's work uses a variety of techniques-piercings, etching, stone setting, enameling, chasing, casting, etc. Valerie is most interested in the process of how things are made and enjoys the challenge of making a vision a reality.
Please contact William Holland School of Lapidary Arts if you have any questions.
